Hall Center for Law & Health Events

Annual Symposium

The annual Indiana Health Law Review Symposium organized in conjunction with the Indiana Health Law Review is the Hall Center’s signature academic event of the year. Each year the Center brings the finest health law and policy scholars to campus for a themed symposium. The proceedings of the conference are published in the Indiana Health Law Review.
The 2012 symposium, Imagining The Next Quarter Century of Health Care Law, asked participants to critically predict the next major themes of health law, from finance and access to care through quality & ethics and emerging scientific and technological challenges. The 2103 symposium, Are We Willing to Trust Patients? Models of Responsibility, Consumerism and Blame, examines the extent to which patients are trusted as emerging models of health care and health care financing place greater emphasis on patient choice and engagement.

Health Law Grand Rounds

The Hall Center’s Speaker Series, Health Law Grand Rounds, features nationally and internationally recognized academics, practicing lawyers, and policymakers discussing contemporary life sciences law and policy issues. Recent speakers have included Jeffrey E. Shuren, M.D., J.D., Director, Center for Devices and Radiological Health at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Nicole Huberfeld, Gallion & Baker Professor of Law at the University of Kentucky College of Law.
