Patricia Kinney was appointed Director for Admissions in October 2004 and became Assistant Dean in 2011. She earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. While a student at the law school, she actively participated in many student organizations. She also served as a student representative for the law school at various Law School Forums, student panels and open houses. Patricia is admitted to practice law in Indiana and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Prior to joining the law school, she assisted clients with matters in trust and estates, sports licensing and entertainment.
A member of the Indianapolis Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, she serves on the executive committee of the Indiana Bar Associationís Sports and Entertainment Law Section (serving as section chair in 2007). She is currently serving on the IBAís Women & the Law Divisionís Women, Law and Leadership Symposium Planning Committee. She is also currently serving on the Midwest Alliance of Law School Admissions (MALSA) Constitution and By Laws Committee and Communication Committee. She is also a member of the Indiana CLEO Advisory Board, co-directed the 2005 and 2009 ICLEO Summer Institutes.
As the Assistant Dean of Admissions, Patricia manages the Office of Admissions. Her responsibilities include new student recruitment, developing and implementing policies and programs related to law school admissions, and advising prospective students.
